Overview
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is pleased to announce the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Scheme to promote an effective exchange of knowledge and better understanding of cultures and traditions between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
This prestigious scholarship program enables Sri Lankan students to pursue higher education at HEC-recognized Pakistani universities, gain insight into Pakistani society and culture, and build long-term academic and professional relationships.

Eligibility Criteria
Pass GCE A/L or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks.
Maximum 32 years of age for Bachelor's programs; flexible for postgraduate.
Must be a Sri Lankan citizen with valid passport.
IELTS or TOEFL score acceptable (minimum requirement varies).
Selection Criteria
Candidates are selected based on academic merit, English proficiency, and demonstrated commitment to contribute to Sri Lankan society upon completion of studies.
Fully Funded Scholarship Benefits

How to Apply
- Register Online: Create your account at the HEC scholarship portal (http://eportl.hec.gov.pk/portal)
- Complete Application Form: Fill in all required information accurately
- Upload Documents: Submit scanned copies of educational certificates, IELTS/TOEFL scores, and passport
- Select Preferences: Choose up to 3 Pakistani universities and disciplines
- Submit Application: Complete and submit before deadline
- Await Results: Shortlisted candidates will be notified for interviews
Required Documents
Passport (valid), GCE A/L certificates and marks, IELTS/TOEFL score certificate, Character certificate from school/institution, Motivation letter, CV, and letters of recommendation.
Important Information
- Only online applications through the official HEC portal will be accepted
- Late submissions will not be considered
- Applicants should verify their A/L results are recognized by HEC Pakistan
- Medical examination may be required for selected candidates
- Scholarship holders must adhere to university discipline and policies
- The scholarship may be forfeited if academic performance falls below required standards
- Recipients are expected to return to Sri Lanka after completion of studies
- Prior scholarships or financial aid from other sources must be disclosed
