OUSL Job Vacancy: Senior Lecturer (On Contract) in Chemistry – Open University
The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences at The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the post of Senior Lecturer (On Contract).
This vacancy is specifically for the Kandy Regional Center located in Polgolla, Kandy.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Educational Background: B.Sc. Honours / Special Degree in Chemistry with a First Class or Second Class (Upper Division).
Postgraduate Qualifications: Preferably an M.Phil. or Ph.D.
Experience: At least six (06) years of experience in teaching or research.
Specialization Note: Preference will be given to candidates who specialize in the field of Physical Chemistry.
Key Skills: Excellent communication skills, computer literacy, ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team, and the capability to independently handle academic program development and coordination.
Appointment Details & Remuneration
Salary Scale: Rs. 85,000/- per month (Inclusive of Cost of Living allowance). The position is also entitled to EPF and ETF benefits.
Duration: Initially for six (06) months, extendable up to four (04) years based on performance.
Working Hours: Normal working days are from Tuesday to Saturday (8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.).
Special Condition: As OUSL is an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution, selected candidates must be flexible enough to conduct academic duties on weekends or holidays at OUSL Regional Centers if required.
