National Basis 50% Selected from highest Z-scores nationally after district quotas are filled
District Basis 50% Selected from candidates with highest Z-scores in each respective district

Determining Your Permanent Residence

Your permanent residential district is crucial for district-based recruitment. It is determined by electoral register data from three specific years.

How Permanent Residence is Determined

  • Your permanent residence is the district where you resided during:
  • The year you appeared for the 2024 G.C.E. (A/L) examination in the first sitting, AND
  • The two years immediately before that (2022-2024)

What You Need to Provide at Interview

  • Electoral register: You do NOT need to submit copies - it will be verified online during your interview with Elections Commission approval
  • For underage years: Your parents' electoral register showing their residence
  • Certificate of Residence and Character (DS-04): Issued by your Grama Niladhari with any special circumstances noted
Important: If you changed your district temporarily for personal reasons, that is NOT considered your permanent residence. Only your genuine residential history counts.
