G.C.E. A/L 2026 Paper Marking Applications Called
The Department of Examinations has invited eligible teachers and education professionals to apply as answer script examiners for the G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced educators to contribute to the national examination system.
All applicants must ensure that the information provided is complete and accurate. Applications containing incomplete or incorrect details will be rejected without prior notice.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to the following categories of educators:
- Government School Teachers – Serving under the Ministry of Education or Provincial Departments of Education
- Experienced Teacher Advisors – Who have previously participated in G.C.E. A/L answer script evaluation activities
- Degree/Diploma Holders – Possessing relevant qualifications to the subject applied for
- Current Grade 12–13 Teachers – Teaching Grades 12 and 13 or serving in a related subject area
- Private and International School Teachers – Following the national curriculum for English-medium subjects and English Language categories
Important Conditions
Eligibility Requirements
- Educational and professional qualifications must be entered accurately
- All information required under Step 5 of the application must be completed
- Teachers facing disciplinary investigations are not eligible to apply
- Applicants subject to examination duty bans are not eligible
- Applicants whose family members are sitting for the 2026 A/L Examination are not eligible for marking duties
- Applications will be accepted online only
Proposed Evaluation Centres
The Department has proposed the following evaluation centres across the island. Applicants are required to select a second preferred centre as well. Centres will be established only if a sufficient number of applications are received.
Application Process
- Government school teachers must submit applications online through the attestation of their respective Principals
- First-time applicants are required to submit a printed copy together with qualification certificates
- Download and retain a copy of the application after attestation for your records
- Certification required by the relevant Principal, Zonal Director, Divisional Director, or Head of Institution
