The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington D.C., USA calls for applications from self-motivated and diligent individuals to fill the post of Media Officer.
📌 Requirements:
Skills: Strong skills in current affairs, media-related reporting, communication, research, and data compilation.
Education: High School Diploma / G.C.E. Advanced Level with experience in the media field (A First Degree will be considered an added qualification).
Languages: Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken). Fluency or working knowledge in Sinhala, Tamil, and Spanish will be considered an added qualification.
Technical Skills: IT skills and computer literacy. Skills in photography, videography, and editing will be considered an added qualification.
📋 Job Information & Eligibility:
📅 Date of Commencement: 01 July 2026
🏢 Type of Work: In-person / Onsite
⏳ Duration: One-year contractual appointment (renewable based on satisfactory performance)
💼 Experience: Not a prerequisite; however, relevant experience will be considered an added qualification.
🎯 Selection Method: Practical examination and a structured interview.
🇺🇸 Legal Status: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, valid Green Card holders, or possess a valid U.S. visa with an uninterrupted work permit.
