COLOMBO — The Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy (SLCARP), functioning under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, has officially invited applications from qualified individuals to fill multiple vacancies at its Colombo Head Office
Opportunities are available for both external and internal candidates across three distinct employment categories
1. Senior Scientist (HM 1-1) — 01 Vacancy
This senior-level role is open to highly experienced research professionals
External Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Science or Agriculture (UGC recognized) alongside a Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 15 years of managerial experience
. Alternatively, candidates possessing a Ph.D. in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of satisfactory service as a Senior Research Officer may apply . Internal Qualifications: A Science or Agriculture degree with a 2-year postgraduate research degree, combined with either a Ph.D. and 4 years of service as a Senior Research Officer at SLCARP, or 8 years of service as a Senior Research Officer
. Relevant research publications are considered an added qualification . Salary Scale: Rs. 140,640 - 15 x 4,100 - Rs. 202,140 (Based on Department of Management Services Circular 01/2025)

2. Research Officer (AR-1) — 01 Vacancy
This position targets strong academic profiles in the scientific and agricultural fields
Qualifications: External candidates must hold a 4-year special degree in Science or Agriculture with a First Class or Second Class Upper division
. Applicants with a Second Class Lower division must also possess a minimum 1-year postgraduate research degree . Alternatively, a general degree in Science or Agriculture paired with a 2-year postgraduate research degree is acceptable . Salary Scale: Rs. 91,650 - 10 x 2,480 - 15 x 3,450 - Rs. 168,200

3. Management Assistant (MA 1-1) — 06 Vacancies
SLCARP is seeking six individuals to support administrative and clerical operations
External Qualifications: Candidates must have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in six subjects in one sitting, securing credit passes in four subjects including Sinhala/Tamil, English Language, and Mathematics
. Additionally, passes in three subjects (excluding the General Paper) at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination are required . Internal Qualifications: Permanent employees in the Primary Level (Skilled/Unskilled) categories who meet the O/L credit requirements and have completed at least 5 years of satisfactory, permanent service are eligible
. Casual, temporary, or training periods will not be counted toward this service requirement . Salary Scale: Rs. 46,220 - 10 x 540 - 7 x 630 - 4 x 890 - 20 x 1,190 - Rs. 83,390
