Lanka Phosphate Limited Announces Vacancy for Production Engineer
Lanka Phosphate Limited, a fully State-owned company operating under the Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, has announced a vacancy for the post of Production Engineer (MM 1-1). The position will be based at the company's project site in Eppawala.
As the company undergoes expansion to increase production capacity and manufacture more soluble forms of fertilizer to meet national requirements, it is seeking an energetic, dynamic, and result-oriented individual with professional qualifications in mining and mineral processing.
Key Qualifications and Requirements
Interested candidates must meet the following criteria:
Educational Background: A B.Sc. Degree in Mining & Mineral Processing Engineering from a recognized university accredited by the University Grant Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka.
Experience: At least five (05) years of post-degree working experience in the relevant field within a state or recognized private organization, backed by a proven track record.
Age Limit: Applicants must be between 22 and 45 years of age as of May 1, 2026. (The upper age limit is relaxed for candidates currently employed in the Government Sector, State Corporations, Companies, or Statutory Boards).
General Attributes: Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka with excellent health, decent character, strong leadership skills, and fluency in English. Candidates must also be capable of working in a computerized environment.
Remuneration and Benefits
The selected candidate will receive an attractive remuneration package, which includes:
Salary Scale: MM 1-1 2016 A – (Rs. 91,690 - 10x2,480 - 15x3,450 - 168,240/-). The present salary step is Rs. 81,710/-, with the new scale becoming applicable from January 1, 2027, under Management Services Circular No. 01/2025.
Monthly Allowances: Cost of Living, Monthly Production Incentive, Attendance Allowance, Transport Allowance, Meal Allowance, Communication Allowance, and Professional Allowance.
Other Benefits: Annual bonus, encashment of unutilized medical leave, medical expense reimbursement, personal accident insurance coverage, and EPF/ETF contributions (10% by employee, 15% by company).
