The Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies at the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine is calling for applications from qualified individuals for the post of Lecturer (Temporary) in the Department of Indigenous Social Sciences.
Subject Areas
Applicants should have the expertise to teach in the following fields:
Anthropology: Cultural Ecology, Archeological Anthropology, Medical Anthropology, Intangible Cultural Heritage, Economic Anthropology, Anthropology of Tourism.
Geography: Human-Environment Interaction, Human Geography, Medical Geography, Cultural Geography, Physical Geography, Cartography, GIS, and Remote Sensing.
Sociology: Sociology of Culture, Medical Sociology, Sociology of Religion, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Rural Sociology, Postcolonial Studies, Decolonial Studies.
Required Qualifications
Essential: A Bachelor’s Degree (Special/Honours) in a related field with a First Class or a Second Class (Upper Division).
Preferred: Postgraduate qualifications and relevant field experience.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, English proficiency, computer literacy, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Competencies: Ability to handle academic program development, coordination, and contribute to university-level activities.
