Assistant Superintendent of Customs Vacancies 2026 – Sri Lanka Customs Department
The Sri Lanka Customs Department has officially called applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Assistant Superintendent of Customs, Grade II – 2026.

Examination Fee: Rs. 1,000/-
The examination fee can be paid using a credit card, debit card, BOC online payment system, or through Bank of Ceylon branches.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka and should be of excellent character.
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years of age as at 08 June 2026.
Eligible date of birth range:
From: 08 June 1991
To: 08 June 2005
Members of the clergy are not eligible to apply.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants should have:
A degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission, with a minimum duration of 3 years.
In addition, applicants must have English language qualifications as follows:
Either
A Credit Pass or above in English Language at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination
Or
A Simple Pass or above in English Language at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.
Physical Requirements
Male Candidates
Minimum height: 5 feet 5 inches
Minimum chest measurement: 33 inches expanded
Female Candidates
Minimum height: 5 feet 3 inches
Examination Structure
The competitive examination will consist of two papers. Candidates can sit for the examination in Sinhala, Tamil, or English medium.
1. Aptitude Paper
Duration: 1 hour
Marks: 100
Question Type: Multiple-choice and short-answer questions
Content: Language skills, logical thinking, and general aptitude
2. English Language Paper
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Marks: 100
Content: Reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills
Candidates must obtain at least 50% marks in each paper to qualify.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Additional marks may be awarded for recognized national or international sports achievements.
Salary Details
The salary scale for the post is:
Rs. 58,660 – 10 x 1,190 – 11 x 1,360 – 15 x 1,670 – Rs. 110,570
Salary category: MN-5, according to Public Administration Circular 10/2025.
Service Conditions
This is a permanent government post with a 3-year probation period.
Selected officers should be physically fit and ready to serve in any part of Sri Lanka. They may also be required to work during both day and night shifts.
