National School Teachers Temporary Attachment extended Until June 30

National School Teachers Temporary Attachment extended until June 30

The Ministry of Education has officially announced an extension for all temporary attachments of teachers serving in national schools. Originally set to expire in early March, these attachments will now remain valid until June 30, 2026.

The circular, issued by the Additional Secretary (Establishments) on behalf of the Secretary to the Ministry of Education, outlines several critical conditions for school heads and academic staff:

Key Highlights of the Directive:

  • Extension of Service: Temporary attachments previously granted until March 3, 2026, are now formally extended to June 30, 2026.
  • No Individual Letters: The Ministry clarified that separate personal letters will not be issued to individual teachers regarding this extension. School principals are instructed to act based on this general directive, provided they recommend the continuation of the attachment.
  • Impact of Annual Transfers: The extension is subject to the 2025 Annual Teacher Transfer list. If a teacher has been assigned a new station through the mandatory or annual transfer process, the temporary attachment will be automatically cancelled on the date specified in the transfer order.
  • Immediate Release: Principals are required to release teachers who have received new appointments under the annual transfer scheme to ensure they can report for duty at their new locations without delay.
